RTPAudios Launches with Dramatic Readings and "A New Life" Season

Audios take us places TV can’t, which is what RTPAudios is planning. From March 2011, RTPAudios bursts online with a variety of dramatic readings, one man audios, and full cast productions.

With the range set to officially launch in March, RTPAudios aims to release a variety of audios, both in the Whoniverse and out.

The key cog in the RTPAudios universe is the forthcoming fan audio season: “Doctor Who: A New Life,” launching in March with a new Doctor, resurrected after he died, in monthly, two part stories, (two parts released at the same time.)

“We don’t know how he died” Matt: Actor of the Doctor, Writer, Editor and Executive Producer of the season states, “You don’t really need to. There’s small hints threw into the season of how and why, but we will not find out about what happened for a while.” The ten x two part stories are released on a monthly basis, with some months bringing us two due to exams etc. “It’s got some funny moments, some sad moments, and some moments where I hope you go “WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED! NO! I NEED THE NEXT STORY NOW!” This is also a small experiment for a possible 2012 fan season, different to this, but with similar areas. In fact, Fear is from an Action Figure Adventure season I’m making! So hold onto your seat belts, for it’s going to be a bumpy ride!”

The first story currently titled: “Time and Relative Dimensions” is planned for release in March. Each episode comes as an zip, mp3 archive, featuring each episode divided into five minute tracks, with auto play features. You also get a Big Finish style booklet featuring exclusive images, a two page piece of artwork, interviews, production notes, the next episode preview and a track list. RTP will be covering this season in each issue, with interviews and previews! Companion Chronicles set in the season have also been confirmed, and a season based website is also under construction.

Also confirmed are Classic Who adventures with all the vocals done by one person. These are due later this Spring/Summer. The first few confirmed for release include: “Dehumanised,” and the forthcoming Torchwood Anthology “Time for Change.”

“It’s not just Doctor Who though,” Matt states, “RTPAudios plans to introduce new Sci-Fi worlds to audio, as well as some possible Dramatic Performances.”

RTPAudios will also be bringing a new feature to fanzine “Reverse the Polarity:” a free audio download featuring audio versions of the articles such as “A Whovians Quest;” Interviews; Exclusive Readings/Preview Tracks and podcast “The Who Crowd:” a discussion based podcast including previews from the RTPAudios and Books Universe...
